We are both a department of the University of Oxford and a major international publishing organization with a significant presence in Hong Kong. We have the following vacancies:
Assistant Editor/Editor (ELT)
Planning, designing and developing English Language Teaching (ELT) publications of the highest possible quality
Content and copy editing, proofreading and general editorial duties
Liaising with authors, freelance contributors, teachers and academic consultants
Collaborating with sales and marketing teams in market research, promotion and sales activities
Collaborating with design, production and technical teams on publishing and digital/multimedia productions
a university degree, preferably in a field related to language and/or education
an excellent command of both written and spoken English
at least two years' editorial experience
strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail
strong organizational and communication skills
the ability to prioritize and work to deadlines
a positive and proactive working attitude
Responsibilities include design for both print publishing and e-publishing of our English and Chinese titles from initial ideas to production.
Polytechnic/Design institute graduate in visual communication
Creative, with good typographic sense
Mac/PC proficiency using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and MS Office
Self-motivated, responsible, able to work independently under tight deadlines
Good illustration skill and knowledge of mastering softwares for multimedia production are advantages
Good command of spoken and written English is preferable
*Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Designer.
The main duty is to work with the design and production team in the delivering on the practical aspects of both print and multimedia productions.
F7 or above, with 1 year working experience preferable
PC/Mac proficency using MS Office, InDesign and Photoshop
Basic command in English and Chinese
Self-motivated, responsible and able to work under pressure
