Marketing and Sales Co-ordinates (Oxford Path Centre) Assistant Editor (Oxford English-Chinese Dictionaries and Grammars)
We are both a department of the University of Oxford and a major international publishing organization with a significant presence in Hong Kong. We have the following vacancies:
Marketing and Sales Co-ordinates (Oxford Path Centre)
  • To assist in organising various activities, such as workshops, promotional activities, events, exhibitions and road shows
  • To assist the manager to conduct data analysis for loyalty programmes and measure the results
  • To assist in implementing marketing plans for the Centre
  • To assist in the daily operation of the Centre
  • To support any ad-hoc tasks
  • University graduate, preferably in business related discipline
  • At least 1 year’s solid working experience in customer service and event management
  • Customer-oriented and outgoing with excellent interpersonal skill
  • Mature, self-motivated, independent and multi-tasking
  • Proactive, detailed oriented, well planning and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Hardworking and willing to work in evenings and weekends
  • Good spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and Chinese Word Processing
Assistant Editor (Oxford English-Chinese Dictionaries and Grammars)
  • Research, desk editing, proofreading and general editorial duties
  • Liaison with freelance contributors, co-publishers and software developers on production-related matters
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams in market research, promotion and sales activities
  • Collaborate with design, production and technical teams on publishing and digital/multimedia productions
  • Assist in designing and developing English-Chinese bilingual dictionaries and grammars at the highest quality possible
  • A degree in disciplines related to translation, English language, and linguistics
  • Excellent command of both English and Chinese (good knowledge of Potonghua and Pinyin is definitely an asset)
  • Patience with good eyes for detail
  • Good communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Experience and/or knowledge in lexical or educational publishing would be an advantage
  • Fair digital product knowledge is a plus
