iClass is an e-learning system developed by the e-Learning Development Laboratory of the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Oxford University Press (OUP) creates interactive teaching materials with iClass, providing students with a brand new learning experience. To let teachers know more about iClass, a seminar was held in March 2016.
After opening remarks by OUP Publishing Director Christine Chau, Dr Wilton Fok and Mr Eric Au Yeung from HKU introduced the latest trend in e-learning and the new functions of iClass. Mr Eric Au Yeung also invited all the teachers to try different functions of iClass through some interesting interactive activities. OUP General Manager Mei Mei Ng ended the first session by talking about the development and importance of e-learning in Hong Kong.
This was followed by two user sharing sessions from Fung Kai No.1 Primary School (ELT session) and Buddhist Chi King Primary School (CLT session). The teachers shared their valuable experience in carrying out e-learning at their schools. Shaun Luk from OUP also demonstrated how to make good use of iClass materials to promote self-learning before class, facilitate interactive learning during class and follow up with assessment after class.
