Oxford University Press (China) Titles Featured at Bologna Children’s Book Fair
Oxford University Press (China) Limited (OUPC) was proud to see its award-winning title Tai Po Stories (《大埔故事》), together with Keys Press’s《身上的每道傷疤》, showcased in April at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in Italy, under the curation of “Soaring Creativity – Hong Kong Pavilion” Achievement Zone. The two titles received the Best Publication Award in Literature and Fiction at the Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Awards 2025, and the Best Publication Award in Spiritual Inspiration at the Publishing Biennial Awards 2023, respectively.
“Soaring Creativity –Hong Kong Pavilion” project, established in 2011, is jointly organised by The Hong Kong Printers Association and Hong Kong Publishing Federation, with sponsorship from the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA). It aims to showcase the creativity and achievements of Hong Kong's publishing and printing industries to the world. This year, under the theme “Hong Kong: Our Narrative,” and sub-theme "STEAM: Words Spark Worlds", the project joined this year’s Bologna Children’s Book Fair, which has grown since 1987 into the world’s largest and most influential children’s publishing event, attracting professionals from across the industry.
By showcasing two award‑winning titles through the “Soaring Creativity – Hong Kong Pavilion” project, OUPC demonstrates its sustained commitment to humanities publishing while reaching across regions to introduce these works to a broader circle of industry professionals. In Tai Po Stories, author Eva Hung portrays the warmth and diversity of community life with delicate prose, while in 《身上的每道傷疤》, author Sarah Lee shares candid reflections on her 19‑year cycling career, revealing resilience and renewal through adversity. These works not only showcase the depth of writers’ perspectives but also convey the sincerity and strength embedded in their words.
OUPC, while deeply rooted in educational publishing, has also actively expanded into the humanities, seeking to provide readers with diverse works—ranging from literature, dictionaries, and popular titles—that enrich knowledge, broaden reading choices, and foster a culture of reading. Looking ahead, we will continue to bring forth outstanding works that accompany readers on their life journeys of exploration, reflection, and growth.
