Oxford University Press China (“OUPC”) and Keys Chinese (“Keys”) continued to be actively committed to this annual cultural event from 17 to 21 July— the Hong Kong Book Fair, under the theme of "Words Create Worlds”. OUPC had exhibition booths at University Corner on the first floor and Children's Paradise on the third floor, showcasing nearly 1,400 premium publications and educational materials from around the globe, tailored for readers of diverse age groups and interests, empowering readers to construct their own world of knowledge between the lines, broaden their horizons, and acquire the ability to create the future through reading. This year’s Book Fair concluded successfully in a rich atmosphere of reading and attracted almost 1 million visitors. OUPC’s booths also attracted numerous readers to pause and engage, sharing their passion for words and experiencing the enduring charm of reading.
Diversified early childhood books unveiled to inspire imagination
OUPC’s early childhood materials have long been highly recognized by parents. During the Book Fair, we not only showcased the Oxford Path professional English learning system and home learning materials specially designed for young children, but also presented globally acclaimed UK-imported children’s titles such as the magical fantasy novel series Isadora Moon and Mirabelle, accompanying children as they explore an infinite world of imagination.
Marking its 40th anniversary, the Oxford Reading Tree series continues to shape children’s education with a comprehensive range of materials, from wordless picture books for preschoolers to advanced texts for secondary students. Its diverse collection—including rhymes, stories, novels, and biographies—guides children step by step in literacy development while nurturing a lifelong love of reading. Sub‑series such as Traditional Tales further enrich the interactive reading experience, and with the newly introduced talking stickers this year, the books are now compatible with the Oxford Reading Pen. Through diverse early childhood learning materials, we strive to accompany parents and children in their exploration of knowledge and cultivation of reading interest, thereby shaping a learning journey that is both inspiring and enjoyable.
Educational and humanities resources showcased to expand boundaries of knowledge
In terms of educational resources, a wide range of supplementary exercises for primary and secondary students wwere presented during the Book Fair, offering guidance on practical exam techniques. Our experienced editorial team develops new Chinese, English, and Mathematics supplementary exercises each year, aligned with the latest curriculum guidelines and closely reflecting the testing formats of both primary and secondary schools. Beyond local curriculum-based resources, we also launched the latest supplementary exercises and teaching materials developed by professional teams for international curricula such as IB and IGCSE, using clear examples to help students tackle exams effectively. These materials were warmly received by parents and students during the Book Fair.
In addition, dictionaries for diverse learning needs were also unveiled at the Book Fair, including Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary 10th edition and Oxford Elementary Learner’s Dictionary (5th Edition), providing support for learners at different levels.
In the realm of humanities, several newly published works drew significant attention, attracting literature enthusiasts to pause, read, and engage in discussion. These works not only represent the charm of the classics but also provide readers with fresh perspectives and inspiration.
Launched new membership programme and promotions to boost book sales
At the Book Fair, we curated a diverse array of promotional activities that attracted enthusiastic participation from readers. Not only did visitors enjoy discounts, but they were also delighted by surprise gifts, making the process of book selection even more enjoyable.
