(16 December 2025) Oxford University Press (China) Limited (OUPC) proudly hosted the launch of Ready (Second Edition) on 6 December 2025, marking the release of the latest edition of the widely adopted Ready series for primary schools. The event brought together a diverse group of educators to explore how this new textbook supports every stage of the teaching and learning journey.

We have always been committed to providing high-quality and holistic teaching solutions. In addition to textbooks, we also offer teachers and students a wide range of high-quality reading books, supplementary exercises, dictionaries, and digital teaching tools. This year, we are proud to launch the first—and the only*—set of Primary English language textbook in the market that fully aligns with the Primary English Curriculum Guide released in June 2025: Ready (Second Edition). The series has been officially approved by Hong Kong ‘s Education Bureau and included in the Recommended Textbook List. The new edition integrates a focus on values education, national security education, and information literacy, ensuring that students benefit from a well-rounded and forward-looking learning experience. Alongside the core textbook, the series extends its support through reader series, school-based programmes, placement tests, supplementary materials, and e-learning resources, creating a holistic ecosystem for teaching and learning.

To mark the launch, we invited experienced educators—Ms Lam Hoi Yan, Mr Chung Chun Kong, and Ms Yau Shuk Yi (Shirley)—to share their insights on how values and national education can be integrated into everyday classroom practice. Their contributions underscored the importance of nurturing the development of students’ values. Highlighting the synergy between pedagogy and technology, one of the keynote speakers Dr. Paul Sze introduced practical tools for creating a wide range of teaching materials. Central to this innovation is the Oxford AI Platform, which enables teachers to generate a wide variety of resources with ease. This connects with our commitment to offering different platforms, such as the Oxford eActivity Platform, the Oxford Exercise Platform, and Oxford Reading Planet. Together, these platforms cover the entire teaching cycle—from lesson preparation and to post-class assessment—providing teachers with continuous support while empowering students to engage in self-directed learning, cultivate interest in study, and strengthen their language proficiency.

Through the alignment of Ready (Second Edition) with the curriculum guidelines and its rigorous course design, the new edition will continue to extend the Ready series, providing comprehensive support for both teachers and students. Looking ahead, OUPC remains committed to the development of high-quality teaching and learning resources, while advancing diversified digital platforms to address the evolving needs of contemporary education.
