Editor / Assistant Editor (Physics / Biology / Science)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in all stages of the production of English and/or Chinese teaching and learning materials in book and electronic form;
  • Ensure the teaching and learning materials are accurate and meet market needs, in order to achieve the policy and profit objectives set by management;
  • Prepare manuscripts (including proofreading and copy-editing), develop ideas and give instructions for illustrations in books and other products;
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth work progress and develop teacher network.
 
Job Requirements:
  • University degree in Physics, Biology, Chemistry or relevant discipline;
  • Excellent command of written English and Chinese;
  • Strong organizational and communication skills;
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Good knowledge of IT or teaching experience is an advantage

Enterprise Technology Specialist / Business Analyst

Job Purpose:
  • Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) is responsible for the delivery of all IT Services needed to run the business, including Infrastructure, End User Services & Enterprise Applications.
  • The Enterprise Technology Specialist is a business application focussed role based in our regional branch offices and is a key interface between business users and the Enterprise Technology organisation.
  • Reporting to the Service Performance Manager, the Enterprise Technology Specialist will build a solid understanding of business applications across Front Office (Sales & Marketing, Customer Services, E-Commerce and Marketing Website) and Back Office (Finance, Operations, Group Functions, Rights and Royalties) technology domains.  The role will also support applications in the Publishing and Content technology domain led by Product Technology.
  • The ETS Specialist will work closely with the branch Service Performance Manager and collaborate with business stakeholders to understand the need for application change, liaising with Functional Consultants in the Technology Organisation to identify technology solutions and facilitate the new demand through the relevant processes.
  • The Specialist will offer a range of capabilities to ensure delivery including business analysis, requirement definition, business change and training where required.
  • The ETS Specialist will also ensure that business applications are available and performing satisfactorily within Branch.   They will investigate issues, provide the branch stakeholders with incident support and escalations, ensuring that stakeholder expectations are met.  
  • The Enterprise Technology Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring that branch stakeholders understand and follow central technology processes (i.e. incident management, change & project delivery).  
  • As a local representative of Enterprise Technology Services, may from time to time require a hands-on approach, supporting Project Teams to deliver their goals and providing change management to embed the changes made.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with ETS teams to prioritise and deliver changes. Develop requirements with business, assess solutions, and document changes.
  • Manage triage process for bugs and issues, working with ETS team to prioritise, identify fixes, test and embed solutions.
  • Support users with system and process queries and provide training where necessary.
  • Write and maintain high quality systems documentation, and training materials as required
  • Plan and coordinate user acceptance testing. Analyse test results, raise issues, and track resolution.
  • Support business change in relation to systems and processes, including projects and programmes as required, ensuring that impact has been analysed, and that the business is prepared and trained.
  • Work with the business to identify and implement opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement, to improve business effectiveness, and user experience, working towards the Simplify goal for aligning systems across OUP.
 
Job Requirements:

Executive Editor / Project Editor / Editor / Assistant Editor - (Secondary ELT)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, design and develop English Language Teaching (ELT) publications of the highest possible quality
  • Manage the editorial process to ensure all material is produced on time and on budget
  • Collaborate with design, production and digital teams on publishing and digital/multimedia productions
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams in market research, promotion and sales activities
  • Network with relevant professionals and associations in school visits, focus groups and meetings

Job Requirements:
  • A University degree, preferably in a field related to language and/or language education
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of local English curriculum
  • Editorial experience in educational publishing and/or digital publishing is preferred
  • Experience in teaching English as a foreign or second language will be an advantage, but not a must

Home Learning Consultant (Contracted)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Act as Members Experience Specialist and maintain good relationship with customers to promote retention and loyalty.
  • Provide periodic, responsive, empathetic product and educational support to customers through phone calls, emails, WhatsApp or face-to-face events.
  • Help customers plan and understand the best ways to utilize our products based on individual needs.
  • Resolve customer questions related to the products promptly and precisely.
  • Maximize customers’ satisfaction to drive referral and renewal business.
  • Close collaboration with sales team, marketing team and editors to conduct training and to provide learning resources to customers.

Marketing Executive

Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to gather valuable customer insights and business intelligence in the parent market in a structured manner. Segment customers based on their needs and identify new business opportunities or initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape to improve planning and respond swiftly in order to maintain and increase our market share.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans utilizing an appropriate marketing mix to effectively promote OUP products and services within budget and target customer segments.
  • Develop and execute communication and content marketing plans to effectively convey the customer value proposition and enhance audience experience with our brand, products, and services throughout the marketing funnel.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end event management, including collaborating with event organizers, agencies, and vendors. This entails overseeing promotions, managing manpower, and organizing events such as the Hong Kong Bookfairs, baby and kids exhibitions, and partner events, which may be conducted in physical or online formats.
  • Identify and establish partnerships with new business partners to expand our marketing reach in the targeted market.
  • Provide support in logistical procedures, including setting up vendor accounts, creating purchase orders, and managing vendor payments., etc. 

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a university degree in Marketing, English or Chinese languages, corporate communications, journalism, or translation.
  • Assist in managing trade and digital marketing channels, including websites and social media platforms. Familiarity with live streaming (e.g. webinars) and knowledge of video shooting/editing skills would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of SEO and SEM marketing and analytical tools such as Google Analytics & Google Ads. 
  • Excellent command of both Chinese and English is a must.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in children's publication products. Familiarity with the local parent market and/or educational publishing industry is preferred.

UI / UX Designer

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for UI / UX design for digital products such as mobile apps and websites
  • Communicate with internal users to analyse and clarify user requirements, and offer UI / UX solutions
  • Develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas
  • Assist in and conduct user research, develop user flows and scenarios of UI /UX
  • Keep abreast of usability trends in the market and share insights and creative applications
  • Participate in usability testing and incorporate feedback into design iterations

Job Requirements:
  • Higher Diploma / Degree in Design, Multimedia, or other related disciplines or knowledge of design principles and usability best practices.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in UI / UX design of digital products. Knowledge in mobile app and website design with a demonstrated portfolio is preferred.
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing previous UI / UX design work, including wireframes, prototypes, and finished products.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or similar.
  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to understand implementation constraints. Understanding HTML5, CSS3, CSS extensions (SASS, SCSS etc) is highly preferable.
  • Experience in UI front-end frameworks (bootstrap, Tailwind) which developers use to design and build responsive and user-friendly web interfaces or of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
  • Experience in animation principles and interactive prototypes (Framer motion, react spring, GSAP etc), visual collaboration platform (Invision, Protopie, Figma etc) or webpack frameworks will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve design problems and create user-centered solutions.
