Assistant Designer / Designer

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design book covers from concept, through visual, to finished artwork from written design briefs;
  • Design book layouts and typography, including occasional production of diagram and illustrations;
  • Design marketing materials including leaflets, brochures, catalogues and display boards;
  • Work with freelance illustrators and other design team members in implementing books designs;
  • Provide final designs in required format for printing and production of books according to deadlines;
  • Liaise with Production Manager to ensure the printing quality standards are met and deal with any issues that may arise;
  • Collaborate with the digital team on interface design and eBook production.

Job Requirements:
  • Polytechnic/Design institute graduate in visual communication;
  • A minimum of 1 year graphic arts or related experience in publishing industry;
  • Knowledge of prepress, print production and design trends;
  • Proficiency of all graphic programs, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator;
  • Proactive, creative and attentive to details;
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work in teams;
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment;
  • Good command of both spoken and written English;
  • Candidate with less experiences will be considered as Assistant Designer;

Assistant Editor (Dictionaries)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with production of dictionaries and English-learning material powered by dictionary content of top quality both in print and digital media;
  • Assist with planning, design and implementation of publishing projects;
  • Educational research, desk editing, proofreading, translation and general editorial duties;
  • Liaise with authors, freelance contributors and academic consultants to ensure high standards of publication;
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams in market research, promotion and sales activities;
  • Collaborate with design, production, and technical teams on publishing and digital/multimedia productions.

Job Requirements:
  • A degree in Translation, English Language, Linguistics or in a discipline related to English Language Teaching;
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; literacy in Simplified Chinese characters and fair Putonghua;
  • Patience with good eyes for detail;
  • Strong market sense; good communication, organizational and analytical skills;
  • Positive and pro-active – a committed team player who is able to work under pressure;
  • Experience and/or knowledge in lexical or educational publishing is an advantage;
  • Wide knowledge of technologies is definitely a plus;
  • Fresh graduates are welcome.

Editor (Early Childhood Education)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop English and Chinese Language Teaching & Learning publications at the highest quality possible;
  • Educational research, desk editing, proofreading and general editorial duties;

Job Requirements:
  • A degree in Applied Linguistics, Education or in a discipline related to English and Chinese Language Teaching;
  • Substantial educational publishing experiences;
  • Native level command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Positive and pro-active - a committed team player who could work under pressure;
  • Strong market sense, analytical skills, communication skills and organizational skills;
  • Solid knowledge in Early Childhood Education, teaching experiences and/or good knowledge in using IT for education will be an advantage. 

Member Relations Officer

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide general reception service including but not limited to handling incoming calls and greeting visitors;
  • Manage daily operations & facilities of the centre, including but not limited to arranging the delivery of products and gifts redemption by customers;
  • Provide high standard of after sales services to our members, handle customer enquiries and resolve customers’ complaints promptly;
  • Manage and maintain the accuracy of customer database;
  • Coordinate with customer, logistic company and internal parties for order processing;
  • Assist to plan and conduct activities for children and parents in the service centre; update the enrolment, monitor status and keep close contact with the related parties;
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all activities and act accordingly to uphold the highest standards of the OUP’s code of conduct;
  • Support other ad hoc projects as assigned.
 
Job Requirements:
  • Diploma or university degree holder with 1 year’s relevant work experience;
  • Fluent Cantonese, English and Putonghua;
  • Helpful, courteous, with good interpersonal skills;
  • Proactive problem solver with strength in situation analysis;
  • Able to work during weekends and on shift;
  • Experience in parents’ market or baby/child products would be an advantage.

Production Assistant

Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor production status, from output files to stock, ensuring that all the titles are produced at required standard.
  • Producing cost estimates, printing orders by using production system.
  • Ensure production schedules, progress, ordering status are up-to-date in system.
  • Communicate with suppliers and align with internal parties to resolve production and supply issues. Maintain effective working relationship with suppliers by giving correct instructions and guidelines.
 
Job Requirements:
  • Higher Diploma or above
  • Fresh graduates are welcomed; 1 year working experience preferred
  • Sound knowledge of publishing and print production
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word
  • Strong self-motivation, attentiveness to details and ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task and work within a team environment
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Mandarin.

Project Editor/ Editor - English Language Teaching (Primary & Secondary ELT)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan, design and develop English Language Teaching (ELT) publications of the highest possible quality
  • Manage the editorial process to ensure all material is produced on time and to budget
  • Network with relevant professionals and associations in school visits, focus groups and meetings
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams in market research, promotion and sales activities
  • Collaborate with design, production and digital teams on publishing and digital/multimedia productions

Job Requirements:
  • A University degree, preferably in a field related to language and/or education
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Editorial experience in educational publishing or related experience in writing, content- and copy-editing is preferred
  • Knowledge of local English primary or secondary school curriculum
  • Experience in teaching English as a foreign or second language will be an advantage
  • Experience in digital publishing is preferred
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving and communication skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Candidates with less experiences will be considered as Editor

Senior Account Executive/Account Executive

Job Responsibilities:
  • Collect school information and market intelligence;
  • Implement and execute effective marketing programs to drive sales;
  • Visit school clients to promote textbooks and services in assigned territories;
  • Establish and maintain good business relationships with clients;
  • Deliver professional presentations to clients;
  • Participate in sales and marketing events and customer-related activities;
  • Prepare periodical sales analysis reports;
  • Assist and participate in other ad-hoc projects as directed.
 
Job Requirements: 
  • Degree holder in relevant discipline;
  • Candidates with experience in school sector and a valid driving license will have an advantage;
