Account Executive

Job Responsibilities:
  • Collect school information and market intelligence;
  • Implement and execute effective marketing programs to drive sales;
  • Visit school clients to promote textbooks and services in assigned territories;

Assistant Editor / Editor – Chinese Language Teaching (Secondary CLT)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning, design and implementation and commissioning of new print and electronic publishing projects;
  • Ensure project budget management is in control and on target;
  • Establish and maintain professional network by liaising with authors, freelance contributors, teachers and academic consultants;
  • Ensure the quality of the publications by supervising and reviewing all stages of subordinates’ work;
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams in market research, promotion and sales activities;
  • Collaborate with design, production and technical teams on publishing and digital/multimedia productions.

Job Requirements:
  • University degree in Chinese language or related discipline;

Editor (Early Childhood Education)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop English and Chinese Language Teaching & Learning publications at the highest quality possible;
  • Educational research, desk editing, proofreading and general editorial duties;
  • Liaise with authors, freelance contributors, teachers and academic consultants to ensure high standards of content;
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams in market research, promotion and sales activities;

Job Requirements:
  • A degree in Applied Linguistics, Education or in a discipline related to English and Chinese Language Teaching;
  • Substantial educational publishing experiences;
  • Native level command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Positive and pro-active - a committed team player who could work under pressure;
  • Strong market sense, analytical skills, communication skills and organizational skills;
  • Solid knowledge in Early Childhood Education, teaching experiences and/or good knowledge in using IT for education will be an advantage. 

Ethics and Compliance Manager, Education

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Education business regarding ethics and compliance related matters, in particular through membership of Education’s Senior Management Teams and other project teams as required;
  • Working with the DECO and other colleagues in Ethics and Compliance, conduct Top Down Risk Assessments, identifying ethics and compliance risks for responsible regions(s);
  • As directed by the DECO, and within defined timelines as per the divisional KPIs, conduct face to face training for staff in high risk roles within responsible region(s).  Ensure that all divisional staff and new starters take part in annual ethical online training and other exercises, including first level review of Conflict of Interest Declarations;
  • Within defined timelines as per the divisional KPIs, conduct face to face training for all staff in non-high-risk roles, working with other Divisional Ethics and Compliance teams as required;
  • Ensure that all new Education third parties in responsible region(s) are subject to appropriate risk assessment and due diligence.  For existing third parties, ensure that risk assessments and due diligence are revalidated on a regular basis and that due diligence remains up to date.  This includes review and approval of low and medium risk third parties and review and first level approval of high-risk business partners prior to DECO review and approval;
  • Work with the business to ensure that all high-risk business activities and ethical marketing activities (EMA) in responsible region(s) are identified and that adequate due diligence has been carried out in accordance with the High Risk Business Activity (HRBA) and Ethical Marketing policies.  Conduct first level review and approval of HRBAs and EMAs prior to approval by the DECO;
  • Review and approval of gifts and hospitality and charitable giving submissions, in accordance with defined thresholds;
  • Report quarterly and annually to the DECO on KPIs and key issues related to the Programme across responsible region(s);
  • Meet with business partners, including agents and distributors, to reinforce OUP’s commitment to ethical business practices. Manage day-to-day questions from employees and business partners regarding acceptable business practices and compliance with relevant policies;
  • Provide support to investigations as required.

Job Requirements:
  • Experience of working in an Ethics and Compliance role (professional qualification preferred);
  • Good understanding of bribery, fraud and other related risks and the types of processes/ controls for mitigating those risks;
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of management and staff, including executive leadership;
  • Experience of managing own workload;
  • Highly organized and able to communicate effectively and confidently and collaborate with team members and other cross-divisional colleagues;
  • Discrete and trustworthy as required to work with sensitive and confidential information;
  • Ability to adapt to a diverse range of situations and surroundings;
  • Broad knowledge of corporate processes, systems and organizational structures;
  • High personal integrity and excellent judgment;
  • Willingness to travel overseas if required.

Part-time Marketing Assistant (one-year contract)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with promotional activities, including pre-event, event day and post event tasks;
  • Helping to organize market research;
  • Undertaking daily administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department’s activities;
  • Conducting market research and analyzing consumer surveys/ questionnaires;
  • Updating spreadsheets, databases and inventories;
  • Working with various types of marketing technology platforms;
  • Assisting to update the brand website and social media;
  • Creating a variety of reports;
  • Assisting to connect potential partners and agencies for facilitating the business.

Job Requirements:
  • Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines;
  • Diploma or above in Marketing, Business or relevant field is a strong advantage;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, marketing computer software, knowledge of online platforms (Durpal, SurveyMonkey, Zoom etc.) is a plus;

Project Editor / Editor (Secondary Mathematics) [1-year contract, subject to renewal]

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare manuscript, proof-read, copy-editing and prepare illustrations briefs about Mathematics contents in both English and Chinese version;
  • Ensure the teaching and learning materials are accurate and meet market needs and schedules, in order to achieve the policy and profit objectives set by management;
  • Liaise with various departments to ensure smooth work progress and develop teacher network.

Job Requirements:
  • University degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering;
  • At least 2 years’ experience in editorial work related to Mathematics;
  • Good knowledge about IT or teaching experience an advantage;
  • Excellent command of written English and Chinese;
  • Good organizational and communicative skills;

Sales Executive

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for sales of home learning products to customers;

Job Requirements:
  • Degree or above with minimum 3 years’ relevant selling experience;

  • Relevant experience in working early childhood is definite an advantage;
  • Candidates with more experience will be considered as Senior Sales Executive. 

Senior Marketing Executive

Job Responsibilities:
  • Produce and execute marketing plans with an appropriate marketing mix to promote OUP products and services in the school market on brand and on budget;
  • Produce and implement communications and content marketing plans to articulate customer value proposition and foster audience experience with multimedia skill set;
  • Monitor customer journey with our brand, products and services and propose business adjustments to make our business and marketing activities relevant to the market;
  • Contribute in new business, branding initiatives or corporate communications as advised by the supervisor and the head of corporate marketing.
Job Requirements:
  • At least 5-6 years of experience in marketing and communications with a university degree in Marketing, English or Chinese languages, corporate communications, journalism and translation;
  • 1-2 years of experience in digital marketing and event marketing;
  • Excellent command of both Chinese and English is a must;
  • Excellent organizational, communications and interpersonal skills;
  • Experienced in using a CMS and email marketing system;
  • Familiar with the local school market and/or educational publishing industry is preferable.
